THE HALLS OF RIDICULOUS bring a breath of fresh air to the UK comedy scene, combining lightning-fast improvised comedy with high-octane character sketches. But here’s the twist – every bit of hilarity is conjured up on the spot, fueled by the audience’s suggestions, ideas, and occasionally, their wonderfully weird imaginations.

Starring Chris Lumb (as featured on BBC Three’s Russell Howard’s Good News) and Phil Allan-Smith (seen on BBC One’s This is My House), The Halls of Ridiculous grace stages across the UK, from renowned comedy clubs to their very own scratch night in Otley, West Yorkshire, where emerging talents showcase their stand-up acts and fresh material.

In 2022, their Edinburgh Show ‘The Halls of Ridiculous’ earned a stellar 5-star review from EdFringe Review, hailed as ‘a euphoric experience, the best show of the Fringe’. Riding high on this success, they went on to sell out shows at the 2022, 2023, & 2024 Leicester Comedy Festival.

Their comedic prowess was recognised in 2023 when they clinched the ‘Best Alternative Act’ title at The Yorkshire Comedy Awards and secured the Southport Comedy Awards’ prestigious ‘New Comedian of The Year Award’.

Stephanie Laing

Stephanie started performing in April 2007 on the Scottish comedy circuit. She quickly established herself as one of the most promising acts of her generation on the circuit, and in 2015 appeared as a finalist in the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian Of The Year competition.

Stephanie is best described as goofy and peculiar, and her comedy is partway between the needy oddness of Maria Bamford and the upbeat affability of Josie Long. Her material is a mix of silliness, filth and unusual observations, underpinned by a disarming honesty which makes her seem charmingly vulnerable.

Now a regular on the circuit Stephanie has also become a stalwart of comedy festivals across the country having appeared at Brighton Fringe, Leicester Comedy Festival, York Comedy Festival, Bath Comedy Festival, Women in Comedy Festival as well as appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe every year since 2010. Not content with just performing in the UK. Stephanie has also appeared at UCB in New York & The Laugh Factory in L.A.
